The Village of New Lenox has elected to install an electronic parking fare system for the new Metra station located at Laraway and Cedar Roads. Total Parking Solutions, Inc was chosen by the Village to install this system. Total Parking Solutions, Inc, of Downers Grove, will install four Cale 104XL terminals that will be networked together in order to allow patrons to pay at any terminal and allow the Village to run enforcement for the entire system from one terminal. The meters will be installed to operate as Pay by Space and will accept coins, bills and a city debit-parking card. The Village will also install a parking card vending terminal in the station to allow patrons to purchase the card at their convenience. These cards can easily be recharged at any of the parking fare terminals when the card balance is depleted. The new Cale terminals will greatly increase the efficiency of enforcement and provide a reliable means for the parking patrons to make payments and obtain a receipt for proof of payment for expenses or tax purposes. The overall flexibility of the system will allow the Village to expand the system as the demand for parking grows at the new station along with the areas population.
